Pankuni Uthiram Tomorrow

The most sacred Pankuni Uthiram is observed tomorrow (April 11, 2006). It is observed as a sacred day when Lordess Mahalakshmi incarnated. She is seated in the same Asanam as Her Lord Ranganatha at Srirangam temple.

Sri Ramanuja was greatly blessed by the Divya Thampathi on this day at Sri Rangam.  Also, Valmiki Ramayan celebrates Pankuni Uthiram as the day of wedding of Sita with Rama. Brahmananda Puranam celebrates Pankuni Uthiram as the day when every drop of water joins Thumburu Theertha (one of the seven sacred tanks in Tirumala Tirupathi)

Besides this, Pankuni Uthiram is also sacred for many other Siva and Ayyappa temples also.
