Kanchipuram Garudaseva
Kanchipuram Garudaseva
It is one of the very famous annual Sri Vaishnavite celebrations that is observed with much grandeur in Tamil Nadu. This year, Kanchipuram Garuda Seva is being celebrated on May 31, 2007. There is some good news for those who are not able to attend it, while it is strongly recommended that everyone should make all efforts to mark thier calendars dedicated to the Lord on that day.
Dr. M. V. Ananthapadmanabhachar of Sri Nrisimha Priya is pioneering the efforts of getting the event live telecasted and Sanskar TV is kind enough to provide the live telecast of the Brahmotsavam Garuda Seva between 4 AM and 7 AM on May 31, 2007.
I would like to thank Dr. Sadagopan for sharing this information here in YahooGroups and would like to share this information to all interested pilgrims and devotees so that they can attend the same and get the blessings of the Lord.

- Kanchipuram, the land of temples for both Saivas and Vaishnavas is known for its art, culture and the Varadar Garuda Seva.
- This Garuda Seva takes place on the full moon day in the month of Vaikasi. People from different parts of India gather here to get a glimpse of the Lord and seek His blessings.
- Our Preceptors like Nammalvar, Boothathalvar, Kamban, Ramanujar,Vedhantha Desikan, Manavala Mamunigal, Thiyagabrahmmam, Purandaradasar, Kalamega Pulavar and Sholingur Thootachariar have sung in praise of this festival. Even the then British Governor to India Sir Robert Clive who was a staunch believer of Lord Varadaraja had done many services to the Lord.
