My sincere thanks to Vasumathi in informing me regarding the Sri Koorathazhwan Nithyapadi Nidhi appeal that has been published in Kuresan.com. This comes to close to the heels of celebrating the one thousandth birthday ceremony of Sri Koorathazhwan, on the most eminent personalities that our sampradayam has ever seen. A staunch disciple of Sri Ramanuja (aka Udayavar), He was born around one thousand years ago in the year Soumya (Thai month) under the asterism of Hastham. His one-thousandth birthday falls in the year Virodhi (English Year 2010).

Towards these celebrations, Sri Koorathazhwan Charitable Trust has planned a number of activities including the following:

1. Publishing the works of Koorathazwan for the benefit of Sri Vaishnavites worldwide
2. Release of MP3 Media on the following topics:
1. Sri Azhwar's Panchasthavam
2. Panchastava Upanyasams
3. Sri Azhwar Vaibhavam in DVD format
4. Construction of a monumental museum celebrating the works of Sri Koorathazwan and Sri Udayavar.
5. Establishment of a corpus funds for the following:
1. Under the banner of "Sri Koorathazwan Nithyapadi Nidhi" to manage the day-to-day activities of Sri Kooram temple.
2. Under the banner of "Sri Koorathazwan Nithya Thiruvaaradhana Nidhi" to manage the day-to-day Thiruvaradham at Sri Kooram Sannidhi.
6. Sri Velukkudi U. Ve. Upanyasams on Panchasthavam during the forthcoming three years.
1. One of the five sthavams ("Athimaanushasthavam") has already been completed.
2. The Upanyasam of Varadarajasthavam is being planned to be organized at the temple of Sri Deva Perumal in Kanchi.

Sri Velukkudi's Kinchitkaram Trust is also joining hands with the above trust to create a Fixed Deposit based corpus towards more of the following activities to fill the gap derived from paucity of funds from agricultural lands belonging to the temple:

1. Financial Assistance for the Temple Authorities including Archakar, Paricharakar, Thirumadapalli Paricharakar
2. Honorarium to Adhyapakar Swami
3. Management of Security, Vadhyam, Maniam, Maintenance etc
4. Daily offerings at Nithya Thiruvaradhanam like Pushpam, Oil etc.

Vasumathi also informed that her friend Sri Balaji has volunteered to collect funds and issue CDs for donors. They have requested at least a payment of INR 2500 towards processing of CD distributions to donors.

Many thanks to Sri Parthasarathy for letting me the know the following programmes that are being conducted on 24th and 25th of this month at Kattawalkam Sri Viswaroopa Lakshmi Narasimhar Temple at Kattawalkam in order to share the same with other interested devotees who can also get the blessings of the Lord by participating in the function.
