I have got the pamplet (invitation) of Swathi Mandapa Maha Samprokshanam and Sri Narasimha Jayanthi Functions from Arulmigu Amrithavalli Nayiga Sametha Sri Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Poovarasankuppam (Then Ahobilam), Villupuram district -- 605 105. I would like to share the details with other readers here.

Poovarasankuppam has the unique pride that it is one of the eight places where Lord Narasimha gave His unique darshan to the Saptha Rishis on their requests, after slaying the wicked demon king Hiranyakashipu. Poovarasankuppam is also revered as 'Then' (South) Ahobilam'. The temple authorities have planned a Mahasamprokshanam of the Swathi Mandapam on 16th May 2008. This day has the significance of Hastha Star Amirtha Yogam. The temple function is scheduled between 0900 hours to 1000 hours during the Midhuna Lagna.

One of the philanthropist, Kumutham Jothidam Editor, Ahobila Matam Aasthana Vidwan, Jothida Chakravarthi, Poovarasankuppam Narasimhan Kanda Prahladan A. M. Rajagopalan B.A. has taken yeoman efforts. With his blessings and with the monetary contributions of a Chennai based devotee, the mandapam is constructed at an estimated cost of fifty lakhs.

This function is followed by 1001 Kalasa Thirumanjanam on 17th May 2008 Saturday and Swathy Thirumanjanam, Homam on 18th May 2008 morning besides a Thirukkalayana Utsavam on 18th evening.

The temple authorities are inviting everyone cordially to get the choicest showers of blessings of the Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. The invitation also has the contact number of the Archakar S. Parthasarathy which is +91 94439 59955 besides being signed by R. Chandrasekaran B. Sc. (Superintendant) and A. Kumaran D.T. Tech. (Secretary). The temple of 36 feet Sri Anjaneya at Panchavati (Pappanchavadi) with the sanctum sanctorums for Valampuri Sri Maha Ganapathy, Sri Seetha Sametha Pattabhisheka Ramachandra Moorthy and Sri Viswaroopa Panchamuga Anjaneya Swami is scheduled to have the Kumbhabhishekam of the Rajagopuram during the second week of May 2008 in the Sarvadhari year. The construction works which has started sometime during 24th November 2007.

The temple has a very significant feature similar to Nanganallur temple that all devotees get prasadam from 0700 hours to 2130 hours. There are thousands of devotees visiting this shrine and get blessed by Sri Anjaneya on a daily basis.
The temple organizers are cordially inviting everyone to attend the Kumbhabhishekam function.

I learnt from the pamplets distributed at Panchavati Anjaneyar Temple that Sri Rama Navami Janana Sudhinam is being planned to be organized with grandeur on 14th April 2008 (Monday) which is Chithirai 2nd. The temple authorities have planned out to conduct Laksharchanai from 8th April 2008 to 14th April 2008 during both morning and evening hours. The Rama Navami startup pooja starts on 10th April 2008.

The Panchavati Kshetram has a very holy and amazing Anjaneya who is about 36 feet high. He is known to address the issues of His devotees typically from the problems like problems from enemies, black-magic issues, poison anti-dote, curing many diseases and illnesses, real estate boons, educational bliss, prosperity. The different faces of the Lord Panchamuga Anchaneya include Lord Narasimha, Lord Hayagreeva, Lord Varaha, Lord Garuda.

Rules of the Yatra:

1. The tariff mentioned above covers second class sleeper along with vegetarian refreshments [coffee, food etc], special bus and dormitory charges
2. In the rare occasion of external parameters like diesel or train charges forcing a hike on these fares, the same would be applicable on the participating pilgrims.
3. Train reservations are subject to 90 day earlier. Hence the interested pilgrims are requested to book in advance.
4. Though all the tours start and stop at Chennai, necessary arrangements to pickup pilgrims from other places would be made.
5. The bus seat allotments would be in the order of booking.
6. Complete details of the tour would be given to the pilgrims who have booked the tour.
7. In case a pilgrim is not able to attend the tour, the advance paid might not be able to be refunded. The pilgrim may send some one else in lieu of their participation and the amount would thus be adjusted.

I have been observing huge banners and hoardings put across every nook and corner of the city by Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams regarding the "Srinivasa Kalyana Mahotsavam" that they are planning to organize tomorrow (April 6, 2008) in Island Grounds, Chennai at 1800 hours Indian Time.

There is a brief highlight of the event in ChennaiOnline here. Some of the features of the event are:

1. Utsava Moorthies from Tirumala and Priests from Tirumala to organize the function.
2. Elaborate Accomodation Facilities and Extensive Security Measures in place
3. The organizers have also seemed to request the State Transport Corporations for more services in this route.
4. Special Prasadam Distribution at the venue.
5. Entry FREE and there are no charges for anyone to attend the grand event.
