Thanks to Vijayaraghavan for sharing a few info about Sri Ranganatha Perumal temple in Keezhaiyur near Nagapattinam. The same details are shared across here for the benefit of other devotees.

  1. Moolavar: Sri Ranganatha Perumal (Sayana Thirukkolam). He is the presiding deity.
  2. Thayar: Sri Ranganayaki
  3. Utsavar Perumal--Sri Aayanar
  4. Utsava Thayar ---Sri Athiroopavalli
  5. The temple follows the Vaikanasa Agama.
  6. Other Sannidhis: Sri Ramar, Sri Krishnar
  7. The poojas at the temple are done four times a day.
  8. The last samprokshanam was done in 2000.
  9. Specialities: Keezhaiyur Sri Ranganatha pamjarathna stotram, a 20 line verse, is a powerful stotra for sevarthis seeking blessings of the Lord at Kheezhaiyur.

  • This Shrethram is named as Keelaiyur Village because it is also known as Poorvarangam or Keezharangam where the presiding deity is Lord Ranganatha in sayana thirukolam and this marvelous Temple was thought to be constructed during Chola period. The standing example for Chola architecture is the Vavval Nerthi Mantapam made of Brick and Lime Mortar. The two icons viz. Sri Raman together with Sita & Lakshmana and Sri Rajagopalaswamy with Rukmini and Sathyabama of the temple are iconography marvel. The said Temple is under ‘Balalayam’ since more than three years awaiting for completion of renovation work. People willing to contribute may do so to the following account.
