Sri Sudharshana Giri ("Singiri")

Sri Sudharshana Giri ("Singiri")

I just thought I would share the photographs sent as email attachments by skyaasoori from Sri Sudharshana Giri for the benefit of all pilgrims and devotees.

Singiri Koil has a sthalapuranam ("temple history") as Sholinghur Narasimhar given darshan to Nandivarma Pallavan at Sri Sudharshana Giri ("Singiri") who was unable to reach Sholinghur in time during Karthigai month. The hillock is located on the banks of Amirtha river.

The temple is managed by Sri Radhakrishna Bhattachariyar who can be reached on the numbers (91)979-183-1808 and (91)948-680-1636. The temple is open from 0900 hours to 1200 hours in the morning and 1630 hours to 1830 hours in the evening. On Saturdays and Sundays, the temple is open from 0900 hours to 1300 hours in the morning and 1630 hours to 1830 hours in the evening. There is no relaxation permissible in the temple timings.

The temple can be reached from Kanniyambadi which is about eight kilometers from the temple. Kanniyambadi is fourteen kilometers from Vellore.
